Over 110 LCCI members complete Chinese language course to boost trade with China

More than 110 members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) have successfully completed a two-month Chinese Language Course aimed at strengthening Pakistan-China business cooperation.

At the certificate distribution ceremony held on Tuesday, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren urged Pakistani entrepreneurs to enhance their Chinese language skills, describing it as essential for expanding trade and investment ties under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Zhao said learning Chinese goes beyond communication and serves as a bridge to culture, economic opportunity, and deeper bilateral engagement. He highlighted that China’s ongoing reforms and expanding role in global markets present fresh prospects for Pakistan’s private sector.

Referring to the outcomes of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee in Beijing, Zhao noted that China’s comprehensive reforms would open new channels of cooperation for Pakistani businesses. He encouraged LCCI members to stay attuned to China’s evolving economic landscape and leverage these opportunities for mutual benefit.

Earlier, LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol said the Chamber would continue to organize similar initiatives to help its members acquire language and business skills necessary for global competitiveness. He added that such programmes reflect LCCI’s commitment to promoting Pakistan-China economic relations and providing value-added services to its members.

LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, and executive committee members were present at the event, which concluded with the presentation of certificates to course participants.
