The Traffic Police Should Seek My Advice. I Will Quit If a Single Accident Happens Because of a Dumper
Sindh Governor Promises Action Against Illegal Tankers and Traffic Negligence
Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori is now ‘looking towards’ being pragmatic in his approach to all traffic issues in the city, stating that he will personally manage every day’s proceedings, directing the police to have the illegal tankers of the city arrested. He further pointed out that ‘traffic police should take guidance from me’, and if there is even a single accident due to dumber, he will resign.
Letter to the Chief Justice and IG Police
At a news conference in Karachi, he revealed that he had formally written to the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court and the Inspector-General (IG) of Police because of the increase in road accidents. He asserted that negligence on the part of officials must not go unpunished and called for stern action against the culprits.
Demand for Strategic Action and Execution
Governor Tesori stated that the traffic police should partner with him, consult about action plans, and implement successful measures to reduce accidents. The assurance is, ‘If well-planned strategy is enforced in the right way, then it is bound to reduce road accidents’, but ultimately, ‘if even that does not work out, then I will resign’.
Arrangements for Ramadan at the Governor House
The Governor also made special arrangements for the Ittehad Ramadan program, under which Taraweeh prayers and Naat as well as Samaa gatherings will take place at Governor House, apart from Iftars for one million people. He also called on the children who are doing their first fast to come and break their fast with him at the Governor’s House.
