Transforming Agriculture in Pakistan
The Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) and modern corporate farming have been introduced to tackle agricultural shortages, and initial results are promising.
According to the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2023, agriculture contributes over 22% to GDP and provides 37% of employment. Despite this, the country faces shortages of wheat, pulses, and oilseeds. To address these challenges, GPI and modern farming techniques were implemented in Cholistan last year, leading to successful outcomes. Now, the initiative is being expanded in the region.
