According to Numbeo’s annual cost of living ranking for the year 2025, three cities in Pakistan are among the cheapest in the world, compared to other locations far more expensive in terms of cost of living.

Lahore and Karachi were rated the third and fourth cheapeest cities anywhere in the world, respectively. Both these cities are reported to be said to be 85% cheaper than Zurich, which tops the list as the most expensive city. Islamabad, too, finds itself on the list at 314th place, and is 83% cheaper than Zurich.
Vital Cost-of-Living Ranking
This list clearly ranks 327 cities on the basis of the lifestyle costs of rent, groceries, and purchasing power. In ascending order, the cheapest city in the world is Coimbatore in India, followed by Alexandria in Egypt. Thus, Swiss cities Zurich, Lausanne, and Geneva are all on the list of ten most expensive cities in the world.
The disparity in cost of living between Pakistan and other world cities makes it clear that the cities mentioned above do not even come close to affording a standard of living.
