Petition Filed in Lahore High Court
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court asking for permission to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.
Accusations of Unwarranted Deferrals
Akmal Bari, PTI leader who filed the petition, said they wanted to hold the rally through their legal and constitutional right, but having made several approaches to the Deputy Commissioner, there was no response.
Request to the Court
The petition argues PTI had repeatedly denied thus sacrificing its democratic right to a peaceful assembly by ignoring the applications on these behalf. The party urged the court to intervene and issue a requisition for that event.
