As tensions continue to rise between Pakistan and India, China’s embassies in both countries issued safety advisories to its citizens on Friday, urging them to exercise caution and reconsider travel plans. This comes in the wake of the most intense fighting the region has seen in nearly 30 years.
The conflict erupted after India launched strikes on multiple locations in Pakistan, which it claimed were “terrorist camps,” in retaliation for an attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) last month.
In separate statements, the Chinese embassies in Pakistan and India advised their citizens to stay alert, monitor the situation closely, and take necessary security precautions. The embassies emphasized the importance of staying informed on local developments and following official safety guidelines.
Furthermore, China’s embassy in Nepal also issued a warning, advising Chinese nationals to avoid areas along the Nepal-India border. Given the open nature of the border between Nepal and India, the embassy reminded citizens that entering India without the proper visa could lead to complications, especially as both India and Nepal have increased security measures along their shared border.
