Following Prince Harry’s explosive BBC interview—where he accused the monarchy of an “establishment stitch-up” after losing a court battle over his security—experts say Prince William is more determined than ever to rewrite the rules for the next generation of royals.

Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that William is consciously working to avoid the “heir and spare” dynamic that has historically fractured royal siblings. “Prince William is especially focused on ensuring that his children don’t experience the same challenges,” said Fordwich. “He and Princess Kate want them to enjoy a grounded, balanced upbringing.”

That means fostering a home life far from the palaces and protocols. According to insiders, the Prince and Princess of Wales are intentional about hands-on parenting—cooking together, doing household chores, enjoying outdoor activities, and taking low-key family holidays. These simple moments, Fordwich noted, are central to their effort to give their children a sense of normalcy despite their titles.

Princess Kate plays a crucial role in shaping this vision. While deeply committed to her royal duties, she’s also focused on raising their daughter, Princess Charlotte, with a strong sense of self-worth and public service—without the emotional fallout her uncle Prince Harry has described.

As the monarchy faces a period of transition and public scrutiny, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appear to be forging a new path—one where royal children are raised with love, balance, and protection from the pitfalls of the past.
