Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received troubling news from the UK, as their public favorability continues to decline, especially following the Duke’s recent remarks about reconciling with the royal family.
Royal expert Richard Palmer shared the results of a YouGov poll conducted in May 2025, revealing a significant drop in both Meghan and Harry’s popularity. Palmer tweeted that Meghan’s approval rating has reached its lowest point since YouGov began tracking her in 2017, and Harry’s is at its lowest since early 2023.
The poll results are particularly concerning for the Sussexes, with only 20% of respondents expressing a positive opinion of Meghan, while 65% view her negatively. This marks a continued downward trend, with her popularity at an all-time low. While the couple’s approval is more neutral among younger Brits aged 18-24, they remain highly unpopular with older generations, with 81% to 86% of people aged 65 and above holding an unfavorable view of them.
These results come shortly after Prince Harry’s emotional BBC interview earlier this month, in which he expressed a desire for reconciliation with the royal family. Despite his heartfelt remarks, the Sussexes’ relationship with the public seems to be deteriorating, with many Britons remaining skeptical of their motivations.
The survey highlights a growing divide in public opinion, with the monarchy still enjoying widespread favorability, while the Sussexes struggle to regain the public’s trust.
