LAHORE: A passenger has taken legal action against Fly Jinnah, filing a Rs12 million lawsuit after the airline failed to provide a vegetarian meal on a flight from Karachi to Lahore, despite his medical requirement to avoid meat.
Waqas Anjum alleges that he requested a vegetarian meal due to strict medical advice, but the airline staff refused to accommodate his dietary needs. “I explained my medical condition and asked for a non-meat option, but my request was ignored,” Anjum said.
He further claimed that after protesting the refusal, he was physically assaulted by airline personnel at the airport, causing him both mental and physical distress.
The consumer court has accepted the complaint and set the hearing for May 27. This case brings attention to growing concerns about dietary accommodations and customer service standards within the airline industry.
