Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid on the occasion of the 34th Arab League Summit held in Baghdad. Xi praised the League of Arab States for its 80-year commitment to Arab unity, self-strengthening, and the promotion of peace and prosperity in the Middle East.
Highlighting the rapidly changing global landscape and complex regional dynamics, Xi acknowledged the Arab countries’ efforts to uphold independence, development, and justice, which have bolstered the influence of the Global South.
President Xi also emphasized the growing ties between China and Arab nations, describing their relationship as a model of unity and cooperation among developing countries. He recalled the first China-Arab States Summit in 2022, where leaders agreed to build a China-Arab community with a shared future, and expressed optimism that the upcoming second summit in 2026 will mark a historic milestone.
Looking ahead, Xi reaffirmed China’s role as a reliable friend and partner to the Arab world, committed to deepening political trust, expanding cooperation, enhancing cultural exchanges, and supporting mutual modernization efforts. He pledged to work together with Arab states to build a stronger, high-level China-Arab community with a shared future.
