The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has forecasted that Eidul Azha will likely be celebrated on June 7, 2025, across Pakistan.
Based on scientific analysis and astronomical data, Suparco confirmed that the new moon for the Islamic month of Zilhaj will be born on May 27 at 8:02 pm PST. Despite favorable weather, the moon’s visibility on that day is expected to be low due to the short 37-minute gap between sunset and moonset.
Suparco predicts that the first day of Zilhaj will fall on May 29, making Eidul Azha, observed on the 10th of Zilhaj, likely to occur on June 7. Final confirmation, however, will depend on the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which verifies moon sightings through eyewitness reports and weather conditions.
Eidul Azha is a major religious festival marking the completion of Hajj and holds great significance for Muslims worldwide.
