Karachi — The Sindh government has announced plans to establish a dedicated help desk within the Agriculture Department to assist women farmers and encourage their active participation in the agricultural sector. The initiative aims to foster gender-inclusive growth and support rural communities.
Sindh’s Agriculture Minister, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr, unveiled the plan during a seminar in Karachi, highlighting that the help desk will provide women farmers with guidance on modern farming techniques, high-yield crop varieties, and sustainable practices.
The government is also expanding services under the Benazir Bhutto Hari Card programme, including access to solar-powered tube wells, crop insurance, and watercourse lining. These efforts seek to boost agricultural productivity and enhance economic resilience among rural women farmers across the province.
