Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram paid tribute to the scientists, engineers, and countless unsung heroes who worked tirelessly to make Pakistan’s defense impregnable. Speaking at a press conference, he emphasized that Pakistan’s emergence as the first nuclear power in the Islamic world and seventh globally is a proud national achievement, belonging to all Pakistanis beyond political divides.

Waqas specially honored Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program, and Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, highlighting their dedication to securing the nation’s sovereignty. He condemned the public humiliation Dr. Khan faced, praising PTI founder Imran Khan for standing firmly by the nuclear scientist’s side.

Turning to current political challenges, Waqas fiercely criticized the 26th Constitutional Amendment, calling it the “burial ground of the Constitution” and condemning the judiciary for delays and failure to uphold justice. He lamented the ongoing injustice faced by political leaders, including the prolonged detention of Imran Khan without fair legal recourse, and condemned Punjab police’s disregard for court orders and violation of constitutional rights.

Waqas reaffirmed PTI’s commitment to fight for constitutional supremacy, democracy, and rule of law. He urged the nation to unite not only in times of conflict but also in peace, demanding justice, dignity, and fundamental rights. He criticized authoritarian measures restricting Imran Khan’s contact with family and legal resources, calling these acts a mockery of justice.

Highlighting further examples of judicial failure, Waqas spoke of wrongful imprisonments and called for immediate repeal of the 26th Amendment, warning it threatens Pakistan’s democracy and institutions. He vowed that PTI would continue its struggle without surrender, standing for justice and the nation’s future.
