RAWALPINDI — Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir engaged with over 1800 academics during the ‘Hilal Talks’ forum, emphasizing the vital role of educational institutions in fostering critical thinking, research, and a national narrative of peace and progress.
Addressing participants from across Pakistan—including vice chancellors, faculty, and students, with special focus on southern Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan—the COAS called on academia to take a proactive stance in promoting harmony and stability. He highlighted that universities must become hubs for innovative solutions that drive Pakistan’s development.
Acknowledging current challenges in higher education and research, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed the Army’s support for government efforts to enhance the academic environment and encourage innovative research.
The forum concluded with participants expressing optimism that ‘Hilal Talks’ will strengthen national unity, expand research opportunities, and contribute to a more secure and prosperous Pakistan through ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
