Apple to unveil new iPhones and devices at September 9 event

Apple announced on Tuesday that it will host its annual fall event on September 9, where the company is expected to unveil new iPhones, watches, and other devices.

The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, and will highlight the company’s efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into its product lineup. The launch will be closely monitored by investors amid concerns that Apple risks losing ground to rivals who are moving more quickly in deploying AI technology.

According to media reports, Apple may introduce a slimmer version of its flagship iPhone, potentially branded as the iPhone Air, in line with its iPad Air and MacBook Air product families. Bloomberg News reported that the company is also preparing to reveal new entry-level and high-end Apple Watches, upgraded iPad Pros, and a faster edition of the Vision Pro headset.

Apple’s product strategy is unfolding under the shadow of broader political and economic pressures. Under pressure from the Trump administration, the company has pledged to increase U.S. investment to $600 billion over the next four years. The initiative is aimed at creating jobs and shifting some operations to the United States to avoid potential import duties.

Even so, Apple continues to face tariff-related challenges on imports from major production hubs, including China and India.

Earlier in June, Apple introduced a range of AI-driven software updates and a redesign of its operating system, featuring new icons and menus styled with a “liquid glass” aesthetic.

Despite these steps, critics say Apple’s relatively slow embrace of AI has left it trailing competitors. Samsung, along with Chinese brands Honor and Huawei, has been drawing customers with devices that showcase AI-powered features more aggressively.
