RTA Completes 40 Rest Areas
DUBAI: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully upgraded the environmental quality in air-conditioned resting areas to be occupied by delivery bike riders, thereby improving their comfort and safety.
Timeline for the Project and Facilities Available
The project was announced in the year 2023 with an anticipation that by August 2024, 20 would have been completed, and today, the development has fully established 40 such areas allocated for rest with essential accessories such as water, snacks, mobile charging ports, and parking lots for motorcycles.
Helping Delivery Workers
Such is the project intended to better the working condition for delivery cyclists who struggle with ht extreme weather such as those targeted by the scheme. Dubai’s commitment to welfare standards among workers can also be recognized with road safety.
