    Pakistan’s fish exports rise 7.03%, meat exports grow by 7.12% in 5MFY2025-26

    Exports of fish and fish products from Pakistan saw a 7.03% increase in the first five months of the current financial year, totaling over 75,766 metric tons worth $173.75 million, compared to 75,336 metric tons valued at $162.33 million during the same period last year, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

    In addition to fish exports, meat and meat products also experienced growth. Exports of meat and meat preparations rose by 7.12%, reaching 47,990 metric tons valued at $215.94 million, up from 47,507 metric tons worth $201.59 million in the previous year.

    Fresh fruit exports for the period from July to November 2025 amounted to 240,297 metric tons, generating $149.92 million in revenue, compared to 220,574 metric tons worth $132.58 million during the same period last year.

    On the import side, rice imports saw a significant decrease of 49.24%, with 1.425 million metric tons valued at $769.29 million imported in FY2025-26, compared to 2.377 million metric tons worth $1.515 billion last year.

    However, the overall food group imports increased by 28.33%, reaching a total of $3.85 billion in the first five months of FY2025-26, up from $2.998 billion during the same period last year.
