Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah convened a high-level conference on rising traffic accidents and law and order in Karachi.
Political Coordination and Police Participation
As per Geo News, senior police officials and representatives from different political parties including MQM would attend. The MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Ali Khorshidi, and Taha Ahmed have confirmed the attendance. The leadership of the ANP and others are also expected to join.
Focus on Traffic Accidents and Public Safety
The discussion of the conference will primarily account for the increased rate of dumper accidents by which many had been killed. Several incidents had also been reported in which public anger erupted into citizens burning water tankers and cluster dumpers.
Government Strategy and Traffic Curbs
The Sindh government has declared heavy traffic to be banned for entry into the city during the hours of 6 AM and 10 PM. Additional governmental measures for traffic management and public safety will be discussed at the conference.
