ISLAMABAD — The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered an FIR against five individuals, including Adil Raja and Moeed Pirzada, accusing them of running a hate campaign against Pakistan’s state institutions on social media.
The FIR names Adil Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Muhammad Umar, Nazir Butt, and Ahmad Noorani as suspects spreading false and inflammatory content designed to incite unrest and distrust amid recent Pakistan-India tensions.
According to NCCIA, the accused repeatedly circulated misleading and provocative material online, intended to create fear and panic among the public, posing a threat to national security and social harmony.
Legal action is underway under relevant laws, with the investigation currently ongoing.
This case follows a similar 2023 incident in Islamabad where overseas Pakistanis, including Shaheen Sehbai and Adil Raja, were booked for allegedly inciting rebellion and targeting defense institutions. These actions demonstrate the government’s increased focus on combating propaganda that undermines national stability.
The FIR was lodged at Ramana police station following a complaint by Muhammad Aslam from Islamabad’s G-11 area.
