Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has emphasized the strong partnership between Pakistan and China, highlighting their joint commitment to regional peace and combating terrorism. Speaking in an exclusive interview with China Media Group, Lt-Gen Chaudhry stressed that prosperity comes through peace and stability and praised China’s rapid development as a global example.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resilience, stating that the nation has never bowed down and values martyrdom as an honor greater than life itself. “Whether one wears blue, white, or khaki, the desire for martyrdom in Pakistan’s armed forces is stronger than life,” he said.
Addressing concerns over rising tensions with India, Lt-Gen Chaudhry criticized India’s aggressive behavior and questioned the legitimacy of attacks based on unproven accusations and false narratives. He urged the world to focus on major global challenges like climate change, misinformation, and population growth rather than pursuing hegemonic ambitions.
On internal security, he described Pakistan’s national strength as an “iron wall” formed by its people, military, diplomats, media, and youth united against terrorism. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s continued progress toward development and stability.
Highlighting Pakistan’s shared vision with China, Lt-Gen Chaudhry praised China as a mature and responsible global player whose achievements, particularly in poverty reduction, serve as a model for Pakistan. He reiterated Pakistan’s preference for peace and commitment to economic growth for the benefit of future generations.
Reflecting the national mood, he said Pakistanis celebrate peace with humility and gratitude to Allah rather than viewing recent developments as a victory.
The interview also touched on the recent escalation of tensions with India, which followed the Pahalgam attack in Indian-Occupied Kashmir in April. The resulting diplomatic and military responses culminated in a ceasefire announced on May 11, with Pakistan acknowledging the role of international mediation from the US, China, and Gulf countries.
Lt-Gen Chaudhry concluded with a message of hope and determination: Pakistan relies foremost on Allah and its own strength to maintain peace and security, pledging to move forward rapidly toward development and prosperity.
