ISLAMABAD – In a significant development amid renewed border tensions, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India have reestablished contact through their military hotline, following a series of cross-border escalations along the Line of Control (LoC).
The renewed communication comes shortly after Pakistani forces reportedly destroyed multiple Indian defense posts in response to what Islamabad has termed “aggression” by New Delhi.
During the hotline exchange, the Pakistani DGMO formally conveyed concerns over Indian ceasefire violations and highlighted the recent escalation in the Kayani and Mandal sectors. According to Pakistani security sources, Indian forces launched unprovoked firing on the night of April 29–30, prompting retaliation.
Indian media has also confirmed the occurrence of the DGMO-level talks, which follow an earlier communication held on April 29.
The hotline contact, while routine in crisis management, is being closely watched as both nuclear-armed nations grapple with rising tensions at their contested border. The conversation focused primarily on violations of the ceasefire agreement, with hopes that the channel will help de-escalate the situation before it spirals further.
