Rates Set by Peshawar Administration
The local district administration has fixed official rates for effect during Ramadan for milk and yogurt, including instructions to keep the list clearly visible to all shopkeepers.
Official Prices
Buffalo Milk: Rs. 220 per liter (6% fat), Rs. 190 per liter (5% fat)
Cow Milk: Rs. 190 per liter (4% fat)
Yogurt: Rs. 240/kg (A+ category), Rs. 210/kg (A category)
Market Dilemma
Before these prices run into effect, greedy traders have already raised prices for fruits, pulses, and drinks, which fills the consumer’s mind with much anxiety.
