The Sindh government has issued a strict ban on presenting ajraks, Sindhi caps, and other gifts during school functions. Additionally, students are no longer allowed to welcome or receive guests at these events.
A recent notification from the School Education and Literacy Department instructs school heads and affiliated institutions to stop the tradition of gifting ajraks, topis, or any items during official meetings and ceremonies. The order also prohibits assigning students the task of greeting visiting officials or delegates.
This move follows concerns raised by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah after a May 16 event on school meal provisions, where he criticized the practice of officials exchanging gifts. The department has made it clear that these guidelines must be strictly enforced without exceptions.
